Responsible Individual services

Compass Care and Consultancy offers flexible interim and part-time Responsible Individual support packages designed to ensure compliance with the Children's Home Regulations 2015. Our experienced professionals can step in to provide leadership and oversight, assisting your service in maintaining regulatory standards. We work closely with your team to ensure all necessary policies and procedures are adhered to, providing guidance on best practices and sector requirements. With our support, you can focus on delivering quality care, knowing that regulatory compliance is in capable hands.

Children’s care home registration support

We begin with an initial property visit to assess the home's suitability and develop an action plan. Our support includes establishing policies and procedures, organizing staff and young person files, and conducting activity and home risk assessments. We assist the Responsible Individual (RI) in completing necessary documents such as SC1 / SC2, standard operating procedures, children’s guide, location risk assessment, core registration policies, planning permission, and cash flow management. Additionally, we provide coaching and preparation for the Home Manager and RI for their Fit Person interview with Ofsted. Our services also include one pre-registration inspection visit (with more available if needed) and unlimited phone support throughout the registration process. Furthermore, we can collaborate with you to register your supported accommodation with Ofsted.

Independent visitation, audits and investigation support

Compass Care and Consultancy offers a variety of independent investigations and audits designed to meet your specific requirements. Our services encompass disciplinary investigations and independent complaint investigations, ensuring an objective and thorough process. We also conduct 'mock' Ofsted visits to help your organization effectively prepare for actual inspections, allowing you to pinpoint areas for enhancement. Furthermore, we provide monthly comprehensive Regulation 44 independant visits in compliance with the Children’s Home Regulations (2015), delivering detailed reports that are submitted to the Registered Manager, Responsible Individual, and Ofsted to support and uphold quality care standards.
